Creative Cardiology Team March Butterfly Blog Hop

Welcome to the Creative Card-iology Monthly Blog Hop

Our theme this month is Butterflies.

For this project I choose to make an Easel Card
using the BUTTERFLY BOUQUET Stamp Set.
This BUTTERFLY BRILLIANCE stamp set comes
bundled with some very unique dies.
There is one large Stamp that stamps 6 difference size Butterflies
that has a large die to cut all 6 in one pass thru
the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine.

HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS I USED TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
In this tutorial the name Seal is referring to the use of the new Stampin' Seal
  • Cut a piece of Mango Melody CS 11" x 4¼" – score at 2¾" and 5½".
  • Fold CS in half and burnish with the Bone Folder.
  • Fold the other score line and burnish with the Bone Folder.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White CS 5¾" x 4" for the inside.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White CS 4" x 2¾".
  • Run your piece of Basic White CS thru the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine using the second largest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
  • Place that Basic White CS in the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and run thru the Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White CS 5" x 6½" and place it in the Stamparatus.  Place your stamp on the paper in the Stamparatus, then close the plate.  Apply a little pressure on the stamp so the stamp is now stuck to the plate.  Open the plate ink the stamp, close the plate applying a little pressure.  If the stamp did not stamp dark enough, repeat the ink and stamp process until you get a clean image.
    Stamp Process

  • Using your Stampin' Blends, color your largest butterfly and the small butterfly at the bottom. You can use additional colors and color the rest of the butterflies to use at a later time or just leave them black.

  • Place the large butterfly die over your colored butterflies, place a couple of sticky notes to hold the die in place, then run thru the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine.
    Die Cut Process

  • Add dimensionals to the back of the large butterfly and adhere to the white embossed piece.
  • Add dimensionals to the lower half of the white and adhere half way up the short front fold.
  • Stamp your greeting with Cajun Craze on the front piece.
  • Stamp your greeting with Cajun Craze on the inside piece of Basic White near the top and adhere to the inside of the card.
  • Open the card making the easel.
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the small butterfly and place as a block to hold the easel in place.
  • Stamp the decorated piece with Cajun Craze.
  • To finalize the card add Matte Black Dots to the butterflies.
