HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS I USED TO MAKE THIS PROJECT
In this tutorial the name Seal refers to the use of the Stampin' Seal Adhesive.
- Cut a sheet of Basic White 8½" x 7" (Score at 3½").
- Fold and burnish to form card base.
- Cut a piece of Basic White 8⅜" x 3⅜".
- Add a little adhesive to the back and stick it on your grid paper to hold it in place while you sponge.
- Then place the large houndstooth mask over you Basic White piece, then use some posted notes on all four sides to secure it in place.
- Using Copper Clay ink and a blending brush, sponge over all the mask in a circular motion, then reverse the circular motion till complete.
- Cut a piece of Basic White 5⅜" x 3¼", add a little adhesive on the back and place on your grid paper to keep it from moving during the color process.
- In the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks there are 4 masks marked 1, 2, 3 and 4. In the upper left corner there is a V notch.
- Place Mask 1 centered over the Basic White piece and add post-it notes on all 4 sides to keep it in place. With a pencil, mark the V notch and the lower left corner.
- Using a blending brush, using these 4 colors (Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze) sponge the flower starting lightly from the outside in. With each color moving into the center you will see a beautiful blend of colors.
- Remove mask 1 and replace with mask 2, lining the notch and lower left corner. Repeat the process above using Old Olive.
- Remove mask 2 and replace with mask 3, lining the notch and lower left corner. Repeat the process above using Pecan Pie, sponge till you reach a medium shade.
- Remove mask 3 and replace with mask 4, lining the notch and lower left corner. Repeat the process above using Pecan Pie again sponging this time until you reach a darker shade.
- Remove mask 4.
- To clean the masks, run under water to remove all the color and pat dry with a towel. DO NOT use a baby wipe as some of the fivers may catch on the mask and possibly catch and tear the mask.
- You can use your sponged sunflower as is or step it up by placing the sunflower in the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder and running thru the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine.
- Cut 2 pieces of Copper Clay 3¼" x 1" and adhere to the top and bottom of your stamped emboss piece showing an ⅛” of cardstock.
- You can use the Sunflowers distressed as is or step it up one more time.
- Cut a piece of Basic White 5" x 4" and restamp the 4 masks as previously done above.
- Fuzzy cut the 3 sunflowers and 3 leaves. Add dimensionals to the back and layer over the distressed pieces.
- Add Multipurpose Glue to the back of the sunflower and adhere to the houndstooth piece showing 2 rows of the houndstooth at the top.
- Stamp your greeting on a piece of Basic White then die cut using the Something Fancy Dies.
- Cut a 5" piece Copper Clay ⅜" Texture Ribbon and wrap around the bottom of the card.
- Place dimensionals to the back of your greeting and adhere over the ribbon at the bottom of the card.
- To add the final touches, add some of the 2023-2025 In Colors Dots to the front of the card.
